For more than 30 years, Trelan Chippers have set exceptional standards when it comes to performance, quality and factory support. The people we employ are very experienced with chippers and we understand our customer's needs. From providing you with the correct replacement parts, to giving technical advice, we are only a phone call away. Since the time that the first Trelan Chippers hit the woods, a ripple went through the chipping industry. Talk of superior chip quality spread through the pulp and paper industries, followed by reports of improved knife wear! On top of all of this came stories of exceptionally low maintenance requirements and the ability of Trelan Chippers to process the nastiest wood that could be found. Could all of this be true? The answer is a resounding "YES!" without a doubt! The keys to Trelan's success lie in the unique, patented chipper design. With the disc (or cutter wheel) mounted at a positive, forward angle came the solution to problems that other manufacturers still struggle with. This design allows the anvil to be mounted in a horizontal fashion, and also tends to draw the material being chipped toward the center of the chipper disc. It may sound overly simple, but these factors combine to create uniform knife wear, a large opening for limby material and a lower horsepower requirement to accomplish the task. Another benefit of the Trelan design is the placement of a side anvil in the chipper. This helps to guarantee chip uniformity and reduces the amount of stringy and undesirable chips produced. Mounting the disc at this angle also gives the ability to place the rear pivoting top feed wheel closer to the chipper disc, allowing more control over the wood that enters. The end result is wood chips widely recognized throughout the pulp and paper industry as being of superior quality. Another Trelan advantage is our ability to fabricate many of our own parts at our factory in Remus, Michigan. In our facility, we are able to maintain high standards of quality control. We also have the flexibility that it takes to make sure our customers get what they need, when they need it.
